32 Weeks!

This week was a fun busy week! It was our own fault that it stayed so busy but hey, it was worth it!

Tuesday night Nick and I headed over to Scott and Sarah's to hang out and watch the BYU basketball game. It ended up being time to talk, play with miss A, and glimpse at the game every once in a while. Pretty sure BYU won though so that's good! haha

Wednesday morning I got a text from Sarah if I could babysit Miss A. Umm ... OF COURSE! She and Scott dropped her off later in the afternoon and went car shopping. We had a blast! Adi and I played for a while until Nick got home from the gym. Once he got home he started up the BBQ and cooked the ladies some yummy chicken. I'm pretty positive Adi ate her own body weight in strawberries, raspberries, and chicken. It was so funny to have a little person at the dinner table with us. Everything I get to do with her just makes me SO excited for you to get here. I love that little lady like family and I know Sarah will love you just the same.

After dinner we decided to go for a walk. Okay, I decided we really needed to try out the stroller! Hello, I have been staring at that thing so excited to see your cute self in it so I decided we would let Adi try it out. Not only did she try out the stroller but she also got to try on some of your clothes! Apparently your Momma isn't a pro at putting on diapers yet so when I picked Adi up and felt a wet bum I though, oh crap! But then quickly realized we had some 9 month clothes we could just throw on her. Scott and Sarah laughed when they came to pick her up and saw her in the boy clothes. They teased that when they babysit you they are going to put you in dresses. I have no doubt they'll get us back! :)

Thursday was a really sore day for me and your Dad was hooked on the TV watching some March Madness basketball so I decided to make it a relaxing night. I took a lovely bubble bath while listening to some relaxing music then read in bed with a bowl of ice cream for a while before falling asleep. It was so nice. I sure hope I get to pamper myself once you get here every once in a while! It is good for my soul (and sanity)!

Friday night we met up with our 3 favorite people again for some dinner. We decided to go to Golden Corral so the boys could eat some prime rib. Don't get me wrong, this girl loves a good steak and potatoes meal but prime rib just has too much fat in it for me! I enjoyed my share of sirloin, shrimp, mashed potatoes, and gravy though. Ooh and peaches and cottage cheese. Delish. While we were there we all kept giving Adi little pieces of cotton candy because she would make such a funny face when it'd dissolve and disappear! Sarah found out later that that was a bad idea. (She didn't go to bed till 4AM!!) After dinner we came back to our place and watched a movie. Adi was on such a sugar high she jumped back and forth between the 4 of us the whole time. Gosh I just love that little one. All the time I spend with her and Sarah makes me so excited to hang out with them with you in my arms. So dang exciting!

Saturday was the long awaited "Mommy to Bee" baby shower your amazing Grandma Stika threw for us! It was so perfect! Everything was gold, black, polka dot, and perfect. We had mini cupcakes, chicken salad sandwiches, caramel and chocolate dipped pretzels, candy bar, and lemonade for everyone. I couldn't believe how many people came to show you and I some love and support. We didn't get very many pictures but here are the few that we took!

Even Sabastian was forced to celebrate when we tied a balloon to his tail :)

After the shower we went out to dinner with your Grandma and Grandpa Stika at Johnny Rockets. It was sure yummy and the 50's diner environment was fun! We walked around the shops at Traverse Mountain for a little bit and bought you a 2 pretty awesome outfits. One says something about having a pretty cool uncle on the onesie. I can't wait to take a picture of you in it and send it to your Uncle Taylor, he's going to love it! After that we went home and put everything we got from the shower away. Your Dad thought I was crazy and that I should just relax but I was way too excited! It was like Christmas! I put everything away, packed your diaper bag, and stood back in wonder. I'm in love! Here's what your nursery looks like right now. Doesn't it look so empty without your handsome self to play in it?! You'll be laying in that crib soon enough :)

Here we are. Monday March 25th and you have been hanging out with me for 32 weeks! The doctor moved my due date up a day so now the "change days" as I call them are Monday's now instead of Tuesday's. Today was oh so busy! There was a few things I needed to return from the baby shower on Saturday so I headed out to FOUR different stores! I came out of them with more stuff for you,  of course. I bought a lot of the small stuff that adds up quick like lotions, car seat accessories, boppy cover, travel size stuff for your diaper bag, you know, the fun stuff. I also got almost all the shopping done for my hospital bag too! Just a few more things and our bags will be packed and ready to go! I know, I still have weeks to go but gosh, can you blame a first time mom for being excited and over prepared?? I think not!

6 weeks to go until the amniocentesis! I'm getting more and more anxious/excited/nervous! I know we need to find out if your little lungs are developed enough to bring you into this world but the pain that comes from a huge needle getting put in my belly and taking some of your amniotic fluid is a pretty scary thing. I had one with my pregnancy with Malia Jayne and ooh I remember it well ... unfortunately. You sure are worth all the pain though buddy! Whatever gives you a few more days to hang out with your Dad before he has to leave is more than worth it too.

31 Weeks

Hey little man! Here we are, another week! You are 31 weeks big today! The pregnancy app that I have on my phone says that you're probably around 4 lbs and 19 inches long. That's so crazy to me. I can sure believe it though because this belly is sure getting big. I'm suuper uncomfy now and even walking is a chore but hey, that's what happens when I'm doing the work for the both of us right? I have gained 14 lbs so far. I know that's pretty great for being 31 weeks but ooh man, it feels like that's so much! I'm wishing I had a longer torso like your Dad. There's nowhere for you to go but out! Here's to hoping we get to meet you sooner rather than later :) Speaking of ... Today your Dad and I went to our 31 week doctors appointment. I decided it was time to start talking about an induction because your Dad is scheduled to leave May 14th, a week before your due date. I guess the hospital rules are that they won't electively induce me even a single day earlier than 39 weeks. They say 'family circumstance' isn't a reason. So, we are scheduling an amniocentesis at the 38.0 weeks (May 6th) and if your lungs are developed they will be able to induce me then. If the amnio, stripping my membranes, and all the walking and stuff I'm planning on doing that week doesn't work, the earliest we can get you here is May 13th. I'm a ball of nerves now hoping and praying that your little lungs are developed enough to get you here healthy a week before your Dad has to leave. Here's hoping! And hey, if all those tricks don't work then maybe the STRESS alone will put me into labor! haha

Now, all that fun stuff aside, how about I tell you about our week. On Thursday we ran into your Grandma Chadwick and Haley at Costco and they just happened to be matching! I asked them whether that meant Haley was dressed like a boy or if your Dad looked like a girl, but I didn't get an answer out of either of them haha

This week involved some more night time reading and more of you trying to kick the crap out of my book until a moved it. You stubborn little stink :P

On Friday your Dad and I went up to BuyBuyBaby in Salt Lake and finally picked out your mattress. Now you have somewhere to sleep! (Not that you will be sleeping in that crib at all while your Dad is gone. You will be in your sleeper in your Mom's room of course!) We also picked out some sheets for you which I love! They are a little crazy with all those polka dots too but I'm a fan. I haven't been able to find grey sheets for a decent price anywhere online that haven't been sold out for MONTHS so I jumped at the chance to buy a couple of these ones.

I already posted about these but Saturday was the day we took pregnancy pictures. I love how they turned out. I can't wait until we take family pictures next time with your cute face in them!

Sunday marked the 3 year anniversary of your Dad and I'd engagement. Three years ago on St. Patrick's Day he proposed to me on that beach in Florida. I'm so blessed to have such an amazing listener, supporter, partner in crime, and best friend. I still can't believe sometimes that he picked me! I'm reminded every day how blessed I am to have him.

Sunday was also St. Patrick's day so in honor of the holiday Grandma Stika put together yet another one of her amazing Sunday dinners. Check it out! We had ham and cheddar chowder, chicken cordon bleu bundles, cupcakes, and green pie for dessert. Yummo!

After the delicious food we went on a walk. I love walks. LOVE love walks. I've decided that just being outside is good for my mental health. It feels like I'm always cooped up inside and even when I do get out I'm going to sit in someone else's house or go to a store inside, but being outside is so good for my mental health. I'm always in such a better mood and happier after a little walk outside. They can't be too long because of my back but a quick walk around the block absolutely makes my day. Here's a picture of Nick and Sabastian when we were close to home. That puppy sure loves your Dad.

This was my project on Monday. I LOVE it! Crafting, as well as being outside, is also good for my mental health :) It's a magnetic dinner board to help me plan meals better and hopefully save us a few $$$. I love cooking and I've been trying to do it a lot more lately since I've been home and had the time. Your Dad's favorite meals are very simple, of course: Shepherds pie, chicken and rice, and mongolian beef. My favorites are sweet and sour chicken, ham with pineapple glaze, and anything BBQed :)

Monday night I decided to make some no-bake cookies too. They were my first attempt and I have to say, I enjoyed them! Especially how easy they were to make!

Last night was another sleepless night so instead of laying in bed even longer, after 3 hours I got up and decided to make myself some cereal and watch some TV. I was jealous your Dad was sleeping so well and snoring soundly, as always. That's one thing I'm definitely jealous about, he can sleep like a rock, ANYWHERE! Finally at 3:45 I climbed back in bed and fell asleep. I guess that's what happens when you decide to get your workout on in my belly and my uterus decided to cramp up and fight back! haha

And here we are to Today. 31 weeks. Check out that big belly ball of love :) I love feeling you grow and become stronger. I love talking to you and pushing back when you decide to kick a little too hard on my ribs. I just love you so much little man.

Pregnancy Photos

Hey little man!

This morning your Dad and I met up with your aunt Savannah to take a few pictures while I've still got this belly! (And before it gets too big! Happy balance) Sav got a new camera for Christmas and she is getting into this photography thing so we thought why not let her take a few of us to give her some practice! I think they turned out quite awesome! Here they are:

30 Week Mark!

I kicked off our 29th week by washing all of the clothes we have acquired so far from a few friends with your Grandma Stika. I've never been a fan of doing laundry but it was so fun! The clothes we have for you are so tiny! I just can't believe you are going to be so small. You'll sure look handsome!

Tuesday afternoon turned into an exciting day! After all of the clothes were hung your Dad and I decided to put your carseat and base in the car to see how it fit. It didn't. AT ALL. I'm only 5'2" and when we put it behind my seat my knees were clear in the dashboard! We didn't even attempt to put it behind your Dad! We headed to the dealership that your Grandpa Chadwick works at to see if there was anything in our price range that would keep our payments the same. And guess what, he found something! We took the Hyundai Sonata for a test drive and then sat at his desk. He ran some numbers and we talked it over. Your Dad and I agreed that it was what we were looking for and your Grandpa Chadwick said "Okay great, just initial here and we will get things rolling!" Um .... what?! I didn't realize we were literally going to leave with a new car that day. But we did! It's been a week and I am absolutely in LOVE with that car. SO much better than the Ford Fusion we had, a year newer, and it even looks more sporty. Just because it's my 'mom car' doesn't mean we can't look awesome in it right? :)

Here is your Dad goofing around with his Dad's glasses while we were waiting for all of the paperwork to get done.

And there is our car! Isn't she a beaut?

On Wednesday your Dad and I have a new tradition :) Well, it's mine and he watches it with me. It's watching the new episode of Duck Dynasty. That show seriously makes me laugh out loud over and over again. Your Dad laughs too, but I think he is mostly laughing at me! I decided some warm chocolate chip cookies would make the night even that much better. And of course, they did!

The next morning I dropped off some cookies at a friends house and then headed back to Orem to drop our car off. It just wasn't complete without a dark tint on the windows! (Now we are just waiting for the fog lights your Dad ordered to arrive so he and Grandpa Stika can put them in!) I think the tint makes the car look so much better!

Friday night we had dinner with Kelly, Mollie, and Cooper and it was so fun! They made us some yummy fajitas and I brought dessert, of course! We talked and left their house laughing way too hard, way too late. But it was so fun! Mollie had surgery on Thursday on her meniscus and ooh it reminded me of when your Dad got surgery on his knee. He did get surgery on his meniscus too but his ACL surgery was by far the worst! I'm sure glad to have that over with!

On Saturday your Dad and I drove up to Salt Lake for the Home and Garden Show. Grandpa Stika had a booth up there so we went to visit him, look at all the other fun booths, and just to get me out of the house for a little exercise! While we were there we bought a picture that your Dad and I have been looking at buying for a few months now. We took it home and hung it above the couch. I absolutely love it.

Also, notice those dogs? There was a dog trainer there that was having some of his dogs perform what he trained them to do. It made your Dad and I want a dog even more than we already do! Someday when we have a house with a yard we want to have a German Shepard for you (and us of course) to play with. Oh someday ...

Sunday was our regular Sunday. We went to the Stika's house for dinner. Afterwards we went out on a walk with the puppy to the park and played a game when we got home. I love Sundays. Once we left there we headed to Scott and Sarah's to hang out with them for a while. Scott's grandpa passed away last week so they had been gone and they are leaving for Disneyland on Tuesday. We wanted to see them before they left again. Your Dad and I just love those two.

Monday was cleaning day for me. I started spring cleaning with the kitchen and spent 4 and a half hours scrubbing every square inch and organizing every cupboard. After that, I was beat. And my back was mad at me. We will see how long it takes me to gather the energy to work on the family room :)

And here we are, kicking of our 30th week! I can't even believe it! You are the size of a head of lettuce this week, about 18 inches long, and around 3.3 lbs. Look at you go! I am hoping to get induced at 38 weeks so we really could only have 8 weeks left! I have a doctors appointment next week and we will find out for sure when we can meet you :) I'm so excited! You are kicking and moving all the time now! Other people can watch you move my belly which freaks some of them out but it just makes me laugh! I can feel you getting bigger which means you are now hanging out in my ribs. I rarely feel you kicking on the left side of my belly, you are always on the right! I keep trying to remind you that you have a whole other half of a living space that you aren't using but seems like you aren't listening! Ah well, suit yourself! I guess it's probably super squishy no matter were you try to fit in there!

We love you so much little man and we are constantly thinking of you. Keep growing healthy and strong! Maybe give my ribs a little break sometime if you can :)
