Quotes: I Love Them

You will come to find out, your Momma LOVES quotes. Whenever I feel down I find a quote and some music and bam, life seems to fall back into place. Here is a few I've come across lately:

28 Weeks

As I started to upload pics this week I sure didn't take very many this week! But hey, at least I got the weekly belly picture in. I'm really tempted to make the week by week collage already but I aint going to do it! It'll be even more fun when my belly gets bigger!

So last week I made your carseat cover of course! I was so excited about that fabric plus now that your carseat is here I could make sure that it fit perfect. And here it is!

Since I had the sewing machine out and I was in the mood I decided to whip up a few more things while I was at it.

I sewed a changing pad cover and a pillow cover. I love em!

Here's 3 new friends for your nursery too! Aren't they so cute! I put them on top of your little bookshelf and I'm pretty sure that just about completes your nursery! We do still need a mattress and sheets for your crib but hey, we will get there :)

This is something NOT awesome but I had to post it. Your Dad has this thing with toothpicks and I'm not a big fan. He chews on them for hours and plus, it prevents kisses! Lame. Well this one I found today. WITH MY BUM! Ouch right? I didn't know whether I should yell or laugh. So I said ouch and laughed about it and texted your Dad the picture and he laughed saying he must have just left a friendly reminder. I don't know about friendly but all I could do was smile and think that when he is gone from us for 5 months, I will miss those things he leaves lying around that drives me a little crazy, so I don't complain. Cause I love your Dad too much I know I'm sure going to miss him a whole bunch.

Woo! 28 weeks! Just a little factoid that really hit me this week: You are going to be full term in NINE weeks! Holy moses! That's so nuts! Oh that reminds me, last week we went to the doctor and talked to him about an induction. He will definitely induce me a week early (May 14th) but since you have been measuring a week big for this whole pregnancy we might get to induce you earlier than that. That's awesome because right now it's looking like your Dad will be leaving on May 21st so if you get here a little earlier that means more time for the two of you before he leaves! I've been trying to get everything together and planned for that time. We've got to get newborn pictures done with your handsome self and your Dad wants to get your blessing done before he leaves. I've made a white blanket for you but I'm still looking for the perfect little outfit for you. We will get there :)

Another exciting thing that happened this week was baby shower planning :) Savannah and Grandma Stika are throwing me one March 23rd for family, neighborhood friends, and some of Grandma's friends. Sarah, Beth and Mollie are throwing one the next week for some of my good friends. I can't wait for everyone to get together and celebrate your upcoming arrival! You better kick them lots and say hello! :)

Today I got a letter from your Uncle Taylor for you. I wrote him a letter from you and sent an ultrasound picture and look at that, he even wrote you back! Here's a picture!

Isn't he the coolest uncle ever already! You are going to love him! Can't wait till you guys finally get to meet. You will be a year and a half old by then but we will be showing you a whole lot of pictures of him and making sure you know who he is by the time he gets home!

I want to add a few more of my thoughts lately. I don't want this little journal of mine to just be about what we do every week, but the feelings I have and the changes that are going on and all the excitement we are feeling.
  • I feel like my hormones have really kicked in this week. I can't even how many times I've cried, or even just teared up! I cried during a TV show, I cried when I felt a little stressed (which is so not normal for me), I teared up when I was telling your Dad how much I appreciate him, I cried when I had a hard day with my back ... Get the picture? It's tough! Your Dad has had a lesson on patience this week and on how to be sensitive with this crazy pregnant wife of his :P
  • The food cravings have kicked in overdrive it seems like, probably due to those hormones. Lately I love smarties (or at least the chalky texture of them), bagels with strawberry cream cheese, brownies, and ramen noodles. Gosh, typing those out makes me realize how unhealthy that all is! But shoot, it's probably worse for my health to have anxiety when I don't get those foods hehe Our weight gain is still below what's expected so I'm not to worried bout it for now.
  • My back is still hurting pretty bad still. When a woman is pregnant her body makes a hormone called 'relaxin' which loosens up the joints. It has to be there for the pelvis to facilitate birth (ouch!) Well I can most definitely feel that relaxin hormone kicking right in! My pelvis is super unstable which is making it hard for my back to get better. I have come to terms with the fact that my back probably won't get better until after you make your entrance into this world, but I just hope it doesn't get any worse! Fingers crossed.
  • Your Dad and I are getting SO excited! We talk to you all the time and love to feel you kick, which you do ALL.THE.TIME! It's the best. On Monday we babysat Miss A and your Dad rocked her while he fed her a bottle in your nursery. It was the sweetest thing to watch. It made me tear up and reminded me again what an amazing Dad he is going to be.
  • Not only does your Dad and I talk about you all the time but so does your Grandma and Grandpa Stika, Savannah, and Taylor! We are all so dang excited to meet you buddy. You are loved so much already!

27 Weeks!

This post is going to be a little less words and a little more pictures :)

Your nursery is sure coming together! I totally love it! I like going in an sitting in the glider during the day when I need a minute to just relax. It makes me so excited to have you in my arms rocking you in that chair instead of you being in my belly. The bookshelf was actually your Valentines present! Okay, I just happened to buy it that day but I decided that was my present for you! Don't you just love it! I love how all those books really make it look more like a nursery.

Here's a picture of your Dad at Ruby River with his birthday cake. We went there on Wednesday with your Grandma Chadwick and Haley for some yummy steaks and delicious garlic mashed potatoes. I don't think I have stopped thinking about them since! Can't wait till your Dad and I go back!

Thursday was Valentines day. I decided to make a big deal of it and decorated our table and made a yummy homemade dinner for your Dad: chicken cordon bleu, twice baked potatoes, rolls, stuffing, and of course, made sure he had a Pepsi. It was fun to turn everything off and sit down for dinner. A lot of times we just sit at the couch and eat dinner while we watch the news but it was nice to turn off all the noise and just pay attention to each other. After dinner Scott, Sarah, and Miss A came over for some dessert. Aren't those flowers SO pretty?! I love love flowers and your Dad brought some home for me and surprised me with the diaper bag that I have been eyeing for months! I can't wait till it arrives in the mail so I can try it on! And carry all your cute stuff in of course! V Day was a success if you ask me!

I had to take a picture showing how amazing your Dad is. My feet have started to feel swollen at nights even though they don't look too bad but ooh a massage feels so amazing! This is just about a nightly occurrence. I am the luckiest.

On Saturday we went to Salt Lake with Kelly, Mollie, and Cooper to check out some baby boutique. It was fun to see all the cute clothes and accessories they had! After that we went to Buca di Beppo for dinner and oh baby was it good! Your Dad and I had never been there but it will definitely be happening again. Authentic Italian food in a fun environment? I'm in! After we went back to the Long's for some dessert. The picture to the right is the most amazing ice cream bar you will ever have in your life! It's a Magnum ice cream bar and ooh I think you loved it as much as I do since you kicked even more than normal the rest of the night. It might have had something to do with that good Italian food too now that I'm thinking of it :) Either way, good stuff!!

Monday was like Christmas at our house for me :) Sarah, Miss A, and I went to a fabric store acnd I finally found fabric I loved for your carseat cover. Isn't it adorable?? Then they day got even better! Your carseat and stroller came in the mail! Grandpa Stika brought it over since it was delivered at their house. Your Dad, Gramps, and I put it together and pushed it around for a bit. I was so excited! I keep looking at it and can't wait to put your cute self in it!

And here we are! 27 weeks big and loving every minute of it! I know I don't have makeup in this picture but shoot, your Momma sure is tired, sore, and not sleeping lately but hey, your worth it!

I'm 26 Weeks and Nick Turned 27!

Well little man, yet another week has gone by. We are now at week 26! Time has flown by so far but it really feels like it's starting to slow down! Here's a picture of you and I today :)

Last Wednesday my cousin and good friend Jessica decided to have a girls day. Her awesome hubby stayed home with her boys and we headed out. It was so much fun! We discovered this awesome store called Gordmans. Apparently it's a big store other places but has made the move to Utah. I fell in love with the place! Another trip up there will most definitely be happening soon. After that we headed to Fashion Place mall and did some more shopping. I bought you some adorable onesies from H&M, did a little more window shopping, then we sat down for a yummy dinner at Cheesecake Factory. It was so much fun to sit and chat for a while and not to mention, enjoying some good food! I was even introduced to fried macaroni balls. Sound super weird but oh baby, I loved them! Shoot, now that I'm thinking about them I sure want some! Moving on!

Your Momma has to have her toenails painted at ALL times. I haven't had naked toenails for years and years. Gosh, I can't even remember the last time! I think it was Thursday that I decided to change the polish color on my nails. You are getting so big that it was next to impossible for me to paint them. After getting in some super uncomfortable positions and making more than one mistake I finally finished painting my toes. I decided that that was the LAST time during this pregnancy I was willing to paint my own toenails. That's where the next picture comes in :)

Your Dad, being the stud muffin that he is, painted my toes for me! Although not easy, I think I might have convinced him to help a girl out every once in a while with painting my toenails. He said he was going to retire after that happened but I told him he couldn't retire for another 13 weeks!

Grandpa Chadwick asked your Dad and I to join him for dinner at Texas Roadhouse to celebrate your Dad's upcoming 27th birthday. We ate way too much food but had a lot of fun chatting with family and having a good time!

Saturday was a super fun day for me! Your Dad had drill all day up on base in Salt Lake so Savannah and I decided to have some fun of our own! We went and registered at Target and Babys-R-Us for your little arrival! Your Dad wasn't very excited about doing that so when I asked if he was okay if I went with Savannah instead he was more than happy to say yes! We had a blast picking out all the things I would love to have for you then we grabbed some lunch at one of my favorite sandwich places, Sensuous Sandwiches. It's some good stuff! After that we went to Hobby Lobby and worked on some nursery decorations for you. The nursery is really coming together!

Here's a picture of your Momma on Sunday. I was so proud that I fit into this dress! Your Dad had drill on Sunday as well so I even zipped this bad boy up all by myself! I actually got this dress for my nursing school graduation back in August. It might not look as great but hey, I was just glad it zipped up!

When I got home from church I found these lovelies just waiting for me on the table. I think your Dad missed me this weekend and showed it to me with a surprise (Your Mom loves surprises!)

On Monday your Dad was working and I was just hanging out at home. Savannah got her braces of so she, Grandpa Stika, and I went to Kneaders for breakfast to celebrate! She looks so grown up! She kept talking about how big and slimy her teeth felt. I sure remember that feeling when I got my braces off too! Sorry to tell you but I think your destined to have braces. Both your Dad and I needed them badly. Chances are, you will too!

Here is a picture of your Mom's major craving! Smarties! I think it's less the flavor and more that chalky texture. I was wanting to take Tums not because my acid reflux was too bad, but because I craved that chalkyness! So, I went and bought me a bag of smarties and it's been just what I needed!

Today, Tuesday, is your Dad's 27th birthday! I don't have any pictures of him because hello, that guy hates pictures. I figured that on his birthday I could at least spare him that torture :) We did a little babysitting for Beth for a few hours in the morning. Got a kick out of those funny (and occasionally naughty) kids!

After that we had planned to go shopping for some shoes for him but he changed his mind and decided he just wanted to relax. So we went home, climbed in bed, and relaxed and talked for hours! It might sound super lame but gosh it was nice! He decided he wanted to go to Texas Roadhouse for dinner (again) and we invited Scott, Sarah, and Miss A to tag along. On our way there we stopped at Barnes and Noble so we could buy a book Nick had been wanting for a while and picked up some stuff at the Distribution Center. We swung by a store next door and looked at blessing outfits for your handsome self! Since It's looking like your Dad will leave a week after you make your grand entrance into this world we will most likely be blessing you when you are a couple days old in our home with a few family members present. We didn't find anything but I am now on the hunt for a cute little outfit that doesn't make you look too nerdy : P After that it was time to head to dinner. We ate way too much food (again) and had fun hanging out with 3 of our favorite people. After that we headed home and called it a night. It was a very low key day but hey, knowing your Dad that doesn't surprise me one bit!

And here we are, onto another week of fun times hanging out together! :)

Routine, Yet Eventful

Hey little man,

This week was pretty routine yet eventful at the same time. I didn't take lots of pictures so you are just going to have to read my ramblings to find out what we were up to this week I guess!

Last Thursday Sarah and Adisynn flew to Virgina to visit her parents. Scott had surprised her a few weeks earlier with airline tickets a few weeks earlier for her birthday. Since she left Thursday and we didn't want poor Scott to have to sit at home all lonely and stuff we invited him over for dinner. I made baked sweet and sour chicken (which is one of your Dad and I's favorite dinners that I make) and brownies with ice cream for dessert. The 3 of us hung out for a while and talked till Scott decided to head home. It was fun to have him over but I sure was missing Sarah and Miss A!

On Friday I was so bored of sitting at home that I decided to go out on a little shopping trip. I haven't gone shopping in SO long that it sounded fun. Your Mom usually hates shopping but since I have been cooped up for so long lately I decided it might do me some good. I first went to Kohl's and shopped around for a while but didn't find anything I liked. I have been so tempted to buy myself a new purse lately but I know I'll be packing around a diaper bag in a few months instead of a purse so I have resisted the urge. After Kohl's I went to Ross and Hobby Lobby. At Ross I found some clothes for you and a few things for me. I sure felt awkward trying on clothes looking for ones that fit around that belly of mine :) I found a cute shirt and a dress. At Hobby Lobby I walked around for a while thinking of all the crafts that I want to do. I finally settled on getting a canvas and some other supplies for a little sign for your room. I will sure post a picture of it when I am done!

Friday night your Dad and I decided to just hang around the house and cuddle up to some TV shows we had recorded. Before we got too comfy we decided to take a quick run to Chili's and order chips, salsa, and a molten chocolate cake to go. It was a delicious choice and we spent the rest of the night taking it easy at home.

Saturday was a busy day! Your Dad and I went over to the Stika's house in the early afternoon. We brought pizza's for lunch for everybody and we all sat around and talked for a little while. After that your Dad and Grandpa Stika went out to the garage to change the oil in our Pontiac while Grandma Stika, Savannah, and I went to run some errands. We ran to drop off a package for Uncle Taylor, went to Costco, and then finished our shopping trip at Macey's. The 3 of us had a lot of fun together and lots of laughs. I sure am lucky to have such an awesome family.

After the shopping your Dad and I ran back home to change and headed over to Kelly and Mollie's for UFC Fight Night. We picked up some Wingers on the way and Scott met us there. Sticky fingers from Wingers has been one of your Mom's cravings since you made your presence known :) I've always had a hard time eating spicy things but ooh I love those. While the boys were watching the fights at the beginning (the big fights are last) Mollie and I decided to run to Macey's. She was throwing a Super Bowl party at her house the next day and hadn't done any shopping. On Saturday morning she had slipped on the ice and hurt her knee so when we were at Macey's I convinced her to use one of those carts that you can sit in and ride. It was so dang funny. Every time she put it in reverse it beeped like a dump truck backing up which made us laugh. That thing turned on a dime too! Which was pretty hilarious to watch as well. After we were done shopping and checked out we asked the checker if she could just ride it out to the car and I would bring it back in. He said of course. So we head out to the car but when we got to the door it stopped working. What made it even worse was that it was right in the middle of the doorway. We started cracking up and people were looking at us like we were crazy. We hurried and loaded our cart full of stuff into a regular cart we could wheel out. While she did that I tried to get the dang thing to go in reverse. After pushing every random button on there it finally started to back up, and beep VERY loudly. After narrowly missing a few people and running it into the wall it was finally put away. By this point we were laughing so hard I peed! Not a lot but oh gosh, I was dying! I've had a lingering cough because of my asthma and I started to cough and cough because of all the laughing and oh, it was just a mess and kept snowballing. Everything kept making us laugh harder. We finally made it to the car, loaded up the groceries, and made it home alive. We might be old but we sure know how to laugh and have a little juvenile fun! :)

Sunday was a big day! Super Bowl Sunday! You will come to know that sports are a big deal in our family, especially with your Dad. Grandma Stika made a TON of food and invited us over (we brought Scott too) and a family friend with her husband and kids. We had fun making our own pizzas and eating way too many desserts while watching the game. This year I was cheering for the San Francisco 49ers and your Dad was cheering for the Baltimore Ravens. The game started out and the Ravens were kicking 49ers but after the half they finally started holding their own. It was almost an amazing comeback but the 49ers lost. It was so much fun to yell at the TV screen and debate with each other on who should win and why. I love Super Bowl Sunday.

Then Monday rolled around. Another crazy day. We still hadn't gotten confirmation on your Dad's leaving date (February 19th) until he got an e-mail around 3:00 that afternoon. His BMT date was denied! After all the struggle of making that decision what we decided wasn't even approved! So the Air Force has requested the next soonest BMT date and Tech school available. Those dates have him leaving May 21st and getting back September 18th. Can you believe that!? I might just remind you that the doctors have your due date set as May 21st! Yikes! We will definitely be inducing your delivery a week early (most likely on May 14th) so that means your Dad will get to meet you before he has to leave! I think that him being gone a full 4 months while you are here will be a lot harder than your Dad just missing 4 weeks but we have to roll with what comes our way for now. I have mixed feelings, excited your Dad will be here to help me bring you into the world and spend a few days as a family but so sad he will be in BMT with very little outside contact during your first few weeks in this world. We will be sending him a whole lot of letters and pictures so that he doesn't miss a thing though :) This date isn't confirmed either but we should hear whether it has been approved for sure within the next couple of days.

And now here we are today. Tuesday January 5th. It's been a usual day for me so far but I do want to say something about your sweet Dad. He gets up in the morning at 6 on days he works, showers, and gets ready to go. He runs out to start the car to get it warm then comes back in for a few minutes. This is the favorite part of my mornings. He sits on the edge of the bed next to me and holds my hand and we talk for 5-10 minutes, depending on how quickly he got ready in the morning. We talk about our plans for the day or how we slept or just whatever. It's not what we talk about but how sweet your Dad is with me that means so much. He is such an incredible husband. I am a girl who needs likes lots of hand holding, cuddles, and "I love yous". He is so good about making me feel special because he knows that makes me feel loved. We are lucky to have such an amazing guy in our lives bud.

Now that I have rambled on and on it's time for me to get ready for the afternoon. Your Dad and I are heading over to Grandma and Grandpa Stika's for dinner. Gramps is making some yummy new chili for us. Wohooo! Love you little man!
Here's what my nights have consisted of lately. My dang asthma is pretty bad! The nail polish is there because hey, if i'm not going to sleep, I might has well paint my nails!
