Routine, Yet Eventful

Hey little man,

This week was pretty routine yet eventful at the same time. I didn't take lots of pictures so you are just going to have to read my ramblings to find out what we were up to this week I guess!

Last Thursday Sarah and Adisynn flew to Virgina to visit her parents. Scott had surprised her a few weeks earlier with airline tickets a few weeks earlier for her birthday. Since she left Thursday and we didn't want poor Scott to have to sit at home all lonely and stuff we invited him over for dinner. I made baked sweet and sour chicken (which is one of your Dad and I's favorite dinners that I make) and brownies with ice cream for dessert. The 3 of us hung out for a while and talked till Scott decided to head home. It was fun to have him over but I sure was missing Sarah and Miss A!

On Friday I was so bored of sitting at home that I decided to go out on a little shopping trip. I haven't gone shopping in SO long that it sounded fun. Your Mom usually hates shopping but since I have been cooped up for so long lately I decided it might do me some good. I first went to Kohl's and shopped around for a while but didn't find anything I liked. I have been so tempted to buy myself a new purse lately but I know I'll be packing around a diaper bag in a few months instead of a purse so I have resisted the urge. After Kohl's I went to Ross and Hobby Lobby. At Ross I found some clothes for you and a few things for me. I sure felt awkward trying on clothes looking for ones that fit around that belly of mine :) I found a cute shirt and a dress. At Hobby Lobby I walked around for a while thinking of all the crafts that I want to do. I finally settled on getting a canvas and some other supplies for a little sign for your room. I will sure post a picture of it when I am done!

Friday night your Dad and I decided to just hang around the house and cuddle up to some TV shows we had recorded. Before we got too comfy we decided to take a quick run to Chili's and order chips, salsa, and a molten chocolate cake to go. It was a delicious choice and we spent the rest of the night taking it easy at home.

Saturday was a busy day! Your Dad and I went over to the Stika's house in the early afternoon. We brought pizza's for lunch for everybody and we all sat around and talked for a little while. After that your Dad and Grandpa Stika went out to the garage to change the oil in our Pontiac while Grandma Stika, Savannah, and I went to run some errands. We ran to drop off a package for Uncle Taylor, went to Costco, and then finished our shopping trip at Macey's. The 3 of us had a lot of fun together and lots of laughs. I sure am lucky to have such an awesome family.

After the shopping your Dad and I ran back home to change and headed over to Kelly and Mollie's for UFC Fight Night. We picked up some Wingers on the way and Scott met us there. Sticky fingers from Wingers has been one of your Mom's cravings since you made your presence known :) I've always had a hard time eating spicy things but ooh I love those. While the boys were watching the fights at the beginning (the big fights are last) Mollie and I decided to run to Macey's. She was throwing a Super Bowl party at her house the next day and hadn't done any shopping. On Saturday morning she had slipped on the ice and hurt her knee so when we were at Macey's I convinced her to use one of those carts that you can sit in and ride. It was so dang funny. Every time she put it in reverse it beeped like a dump truck backing up which made us laugh. That thing turned on a dime too! Which was pretty hilarious to watch as well. After we were done shopping and checked out we asked the checker if she could just ride it out to the car and I would bring it back in. He said of course. So we head out to the car but when we got to the door it stopped working. What made it even worse was that it was right in the middle of the doorway. We started cracking up and people were looking at us like we were crazy. We hurried and loaded our cart full of stuff into a regular cart we could wheel out. While she did that I tried to get the dang thing to go in reverse. After pushing every random button on there it finally started to back up, and beep VERY loudly. After narrowly missing a few people and running it into the wall it was finally put away. By this point we were laughing so hard I peed! Not a lot but oh gosh, I was dying! I've had a lingering cough because of my asthma and I started to cough and cough because of all the laughing and oh, it was just a mess and kept snowballing. Everything kept making us laugh harder. We finally made it to the car, loaded up the groceries, and made it home alive. We might be old but we sure know how to laugh and have a little juvenile fun! :)

Sunday was a big day! Super Bowl Sunday! You will come to know that sports are a big deal in our family, especially with your Dad. Grandma Stika made a TON of food and invited us over (we brought Scott too) and a family friend with her husband and kids. We had fun making our own pizzas and eating way too many desserts while watching the game. This year I was cheering for the San Francisco 49ers and your Dad was cheering for the Baltimore Ravens. The game started out and the Ravens were kicking 49ers but after the half they finally started holding their own. It was almost an amazing comeback but the 49ers lost. It was so much fun to yell at the TV screen and debate with each other on who should win and why. I love Super Bowl Sunday.

Then Monday rolled around. Another crazy day. We still hadn't gotten confirmation on your Dad's leaving date (February 19th) until he got an e-mail around 3:00 that afternoon. His BMT date was denied! After all the struggle of making that decision what we decided wasn't even approved! So the Air Force has requested the next soonest BMT date and Tech school available. Those dates have him leaving May 21st and getting back September 18th. Can you believe that!? I might just remind you that the doctors have your due date set as May 21st! Yikes! We will definitely be inducing your delivery a week early (most likely on May 14th) so that means your Dad will get to meet you before he has to leave! I think that him being gone a full 4 months while you are here will be a lot harder than your Dad just missing 4 weeks but we have to roll with what comes our way for now. I have mixed feelings, excited your Dad will be here to help me bring you into the world and spend a few days as a family but so sad he will be in BMT with very little outside contact during your first few weeks in this world. We will be sending him a whole lot of letters and pictures so that he doesn't miss a thing though :) This date isn't confirmed either but we should hear whether it has been approved for sure within the next couple of days.

And now here we are today. Tuesday January 5th. It's been a usual day for me so far but I do want to say something about your sweet Dad. He gets up in the morning at 6 on days he works, showers, and gets ready to go. He runs out to start the car to get it warm then comes back in for a few minutes. This is the favorite part of my mornings. He sits on the edge of the bed next to me and holds my hand and we talk for 5-10 minutes, depending on how quickly he got ready in the morning. We talk about our plans for the day or how we slept or just whatever. It's not what we talk about but how sweet your Dad is with me that means so much. He is such an incredible husband. I am a girl who needs likes lots of hand holding, cuddles, and "I love yous". He is so good about making me feel special because he knows that makes me feel loved. We are lucky to have such an amazing guy in our lives bud.

Now that I have rambled on and on it's time for me to get ready for the afternoon. Your Dad and I are heading over to Grandma and Grandpa Stika's for dinner. Gramps is making some yummy new chili for us. Wohooo! Love you little man!
Here's what my nights have consisted of lately. My dang asthma is pretty bad! The nail polish is there because hey, if i'm not going to sleep, I might has well paint my nails!
